Intake leaking pressure under boost, coolant leaking back when engine is off.
I have again developed some leaking between the intake gasket and the head which is allowing pressure into the cooling system under boost. The coolant is then pushed back into the intake when the truck is off and sits for a period of time. A new intake gasket held for about a week so I’m sure it is not the head gasket.
I have a question about installing the intake bolts.
Should I have used a torque lubricant on the intake bolts? If so what type? I just reinstalled the dry bolts in the head and torque to specifications. The intake calls for 88 in/lbs in two steps.
I plan to remove the bolts one at a time, apply anti-seize lubricant and re-torque to 100 in/lbs to see if that will seal up the leak. Any comments or warnings? I can’t think of what else could be causing this except perhaps something warped.
With the pressure burped off the cooling system, it runs perfect. Idle is smooth and vacuum remains dead steady at 16 mm/hg. I can’t figure this out.
I may have to run it for a while with no pressure in the cooling system. The truck seems to run just fine and temps remain in the normal range but I do loose some coolant to evaporation.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

WLF,
Have you rechecked the toque on the head bolts. They might have settled and need to be retorqued. The only thing I can think of is that you have lifted the head under boost somehow. Other than pointing out the obvious I am not much help.
Good Luck,
Bill

Thanks outdare for your input. The head bolts are torque to yield so they cannot be retorqued.
I have however thought I may purchase ARP head bolts and replace them one at a time. I don't know if I can get them all out while in the truck. Something to look into.
