Great thread! Play by play threads are great reads.

On this website, I have seen many problems caused by a person trying to lay the entire assembly down on the gaskets/heads, by themselves.......especially, if they had just downed some

If you can stand upright, in the engine bay, you can lay the entire assembly down on the gaskets by yourself, without the possiblity of damaging the gaskets, but its better to ask someone for 5 minutes of their help to save a lot of grief .

Did it start-up?

can you turn the engine over by hand? put a breaker bar on the crank pulley and try to turn over motor first

Wow! What a story... man I feel your pain. To turn the engine over, take the spark plugs out, take the belt off and try to spin the crank pulley. The crank should rotate either direction I would imagine. I wonder if your engine is seized. One thing, if you have some time... remove the starter from the engine and then turn the ignition key and see if the starter spins. (Be careful.)

Good luck!

thanks comike150, so with the spark plug out and belt off, i should be able to spin the crank with my bare hands like the other pulley? and what if my engine is seized? ( what signs)? i did had radiator coolant in my engine due to cracked gasket.

If you can turn it with your bare hands, I don't want to shake hands with you. However, it should turn easily with a 1/2" ratchet.

Before you turn it, roll up eight sheets of paper towel and put one down to the bottom of each spark plug hole. After you turn it two complete revolutions, pull the paper towels out. If any one of them is wet then you most likely had a hydraulic lock in that cylinder from your coolant leak.

Now turn the key and see if the starter will spin the engine.

No humor intended, I am at a complete loss as to what is causing your problem.

I think you need to step back and start from the beginning. i too think something is binding up. hydrolock maybe... just slow down and check everything over and over. you are missing something simple.. get a check list going..

forget the battery for now you can always jump it. get the motor turning with a breakerbar first. try with no coolant in it, see if she'll crank for a sec then shut it down.. break this problem down piece by piece.

ok, done take out the spark plugs, need to take shower and go take exam.
one question, where to stick the break bar into? what part of crank pulley? and i've check all 8 spark plug chambers, all with no sign of water/coolant. the spark plugs are dry and clean.

There is a large bolt in the middle of the Crankshaft Damper, put a socket on it, short extension and a rachet. Don't forget tha paper towels, we're only talking about 50cc's of coolant here needed to hydraulic lock the engine.
