I found that with my 6 psi pulley Powerdyne I needed cooler plugs gapped at about .035". I used NGK TR6 plugs. I was getting a little pinging at full throttle at high rpms even with 93 oct.

I would guess, conservatively, in the high 200's. Get a high flow in-line fuel pump, chip and 9 psi pulley. You'll be happier with it. When you get a chip, get a dyno tunable chip. That way you can squeeze the power out.

Yup. Being I have a '98, I'm working with 20 less hp. No PI heads.

yeha my problem is the truck has 183K miles on it and it has to get me through college and i don't want to blow up the motor, i want to make a mild sleeper and want to stop loosing to stock rice, i was going to also put on a larger throtle body and maby headers, depends on money. my friends say i should just but an old car and fix it up and leve my truck alone, but i love my truck and i am not that serious about bracket racing as they are, i just want to go a little faster, plus i don't have the money to buy a car, instale a new engine, new tranny, tires, and all the other little things, that too much $ for a college student, unlike my friend whoose parents bought him an 03 cobra and give him money for his malibu to fix up. they think i want to make a true drag truck, but i don't i just want a little faster truck. thats the story.

For 1,000 bucks, you could install a complete 2001 or newer F-150 4.6 engine that has the Performance Improved (PI) heads and freer flowing intake. You would see a 20 to 30 rwhp increase and have a good base for using a supercharger kit. All you need is an engine hoist/"cherry picker" and one friend to help and you could do it yourself. You can find them cheap with low miles at www.car-part.com Only concern I see, is installing a Coil Over Plug engine with your two coil pack system.

.........Or install the Powerdyne and when it blows up, then get the used low miles complete 2001 or newer F-150 4.6 engine .

The '97-'98's put out between 170-180 at the wheels. If I remember correctly they were rated for 220 at the flywheel.

that is what i thought, i saw on horse power tv that on a 1995 mustang gt they put it on the dino and got 172 hp and then with exaust and a larger throtle body, i don't remember if they did the programer or not, but i remember it cam out just over 200 or just under and my next mod is a larger throtle body, then hopefully the SC.

To gain 28 horses I would think they would of had to have done the chip/programmer. I cant see that much additional power just from an exhaust and TB.
