Remove FMU after 42lb injectors and MAF

Just wanted to get some carification on this, my truck is getting the fuel upgrades to 42pd injectors and the 90MAF, it is okay or advised to remove the ATI FMU at this time, am I correct. I am leaving the boostapump for now until I can upgrade to the larger in tank fuel pump.

True, just remember you need a tune to run the 42# injectors, and the 90 mm MAF. Trust me, it is a whole new world, 9 psi stock vs. 12 psi and fuel mods. I will never go back.

mthunwardsen, I am just doing the injectors and MAF with the custom tune for now. I may upgrade the pulley later. Is this okay also.

Thanks

As far as being smog legal, I should not have any problem, assuming I pass the sniffer. I had Dom make my other program be emissions/economy. So I should probably run a little leaner on that one. As far as visual, I have not changed any of the smog equipment. I don't have a vented crank case, I still have my cats, etc, my chip is programmed to run the 42# injectors, so a idle and low rpms, I should be just fine.

The chances of someone knowing the difference are slim to none. Anyways, just hang onto your old ones, I have had to convert my truck back to stock more than once. I can get it there in just about 2 hours now. But it goes back to being a gut-less turd them.

I just installed a Magna charger on my 97 5.4 and I am now saving up for the injector and MAF upgrade myself. I was wandering if it is possible to do a custom tune on the stock setup with the FMU or if you have to upgrade the injectors and MAF before be able to tune the PCM? I was thinking of getting a custom tune now and having the chip reburned when I upgrade the injectors and MAF.
