4/6 Drop On 08 Screw

Can I use this setup?

3" Belltech Springs
Belltech Struts set at 1"

6" DJM Flip Kit

What else is needed? What is needed to be done to the front to get the alignment back into spec? Also with the 6" Flip kit will the truck bottom out?

Front - You can use the drop spring and the strut only but the ride is HORRIBLE!!! The shock will bottom out all the time.. Been there done that! I had to get a set of drop lca's and run the drop strut. To get alignment back you need to cut around 1" or more off the inner rod and re-thread the rod. My truck I have cut 1 1/2" off the rod. Then cut 1/2" off the tie rod end. And then notch the lower cross member out like the belltech instructions say.

Rear - the flip will bottom out on large bumps and smaller bumps with a load in the bed. A notch and good shocks will be needed..

Have fun!

I have had my flip kit on mine since November 2004 and 90000 miles later with no problems.

Here is what I would do 2 inch spindle plus the 2inch drop from the adjustable strut and a flip kit in the rear if the flip is not low enough the use the drop shacle everything mentioned above is bell tech. You can try there site or stylinconcepts anything over 5inches in the rear you will need helper bags or you could "C" Notch the rear

Drop spindles are a great idea. Only problem is you can't run smaller than a 20" wheels with spindle. As far as a drop strut, you can adjust them a 1/2" at a time which is a plus. The strut set at 3" would work good. I think it is up to the owner weather or not to run a flip kit. I have run both set-ups and I liked them both.

I think he's trying to drop the truck the the cheapest way and again my truck has been dropped since November 2004 and 90,000 miles later I have not added helper bags or notched with a flip kit

There is nothing wrong with a flip kit I have done 3 Flip kits on F150 with no issues and had one on my truck for 2 years.

c notch

ooopppsss

Sorry about that just noticed what an idiot I am. When I dropped my truck with the 5" flip kit it dropped 6 inches.

Here is the difference from my truck to others on this site I have the 6.5 bed and the 35.7 gas tank. So you are probably ok with no C notch or bags on the smaller 5.5 bed and the 26 gallon gas tank. I think?

Believe it or not that extra weight makes a big difference. I had to put on the bags because it was bottoming out almost all the time. I think it was Stealth that mentioned it in another post he said that the stock leaf springs are soft.

I have to agree with him. My bags are made by AIR LIFT. They mount to the frame on top, the bottom mounts to the leaf spring. Check out my photos I have a pic of what I just explained. I have to run about 30 to 40 psi in my bags. Anything less than that I would ocasionally still bottom out with less air in the bags. Hope this will help you decide on what kit to use.

Then you would have a 3/6 drop. It should set level then.

Actually it would be a 3/5 drop because the flip kit comes with lifting shackles. Unless you keep your factory shackles then it would make it 3/6.
