I've never even heard of shackles that go beyond 2" of drop.

I think if you did do a 4in shackle it would change the angle of your driveline too much where it meets your rearend, right? thats why you do a shackle and hanger to get 4ins... i think im thinking right, but idk.

Hangers go on the forward leaf spring connection and shackles go on the aft leaf spring connection. Depending on your application hangers can be a major pain. Grinding and drilling out metal rivets.

the 4" shackle would for sure be the easiest way to get 4 inches of drop in the rear...you'd need to add the shims to keep your driveshaft at the right angle.
seems like i've heard before that they don't make shackles over 2" drop because it would place too much stress on the shackle itself?

I put two inch shackles on my truck and I dont see how a 4 inch shackle would be possible without cutting part of the bed out for clearance.

i was thinking the same thing, my 2"ers are really close to the bottom of the bed floor right now, i cant imagine another 2".
I guess the earlier body style has a bit more clearance.

my belltech shackles had an illustration in the directions of a hammer beating on part of the bed floor, and theyre only the 2"

theres no way a 4" could fit

perhaps its just a play on words. Probably advertised as 4" shackle and hanger kit....
2" shackle 2" hanger = 4"

easy to install shackle, but the hanger takes a little work. it's not to difficult especially if you a a frequent user of air tools.
