More suspension questions

More suspension questions

What’s up everyone...

I am about to start ordering some of the parts I'm going to need to bring my truck down to a more manageable height but I have a few questions before I start.
I'm looking at purchasing the Eibach 2" drop springs and 3" leaf springs to start things off but considering that this is just a starting point and I most likely will want to bring it down another inch in the front and 2 in the back, Would it be better to just start with the 3 inch springs for the front? I don't want to make the ride to ruff so I was thinking about going with the 2 inch springs and then lower control arms later on down the road.

Also, will there be any problems with having a 3" drop leaf in the back and then adding 2" shackles? Will I bottom out without a C-notch?

I really like the way my truck rides with the stock suspension and because it is a DD I want to make sure that whatever I decide to do not affect the way my truck feels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

best way to do this is go with th 2/3 drop and get your rims, if you want more then get the shackles

2/3 is a good start. I’d stay away from the 3” coils, they tend to stiffen up the front end to the point of rattling bolts loose. If you were to go any lower in the front, use a set of lower control arms. You could go with 3.5” LCA’s from the get go, but you would need to match it with a flip kit in the rear. (less money, more drop, and a little more work) but you get a nice stance.

You may even want to start off with a 2” LCA, and later on you could throw in a 1” or 2” drop coil. You’ll retain (for the most part) your ride, and have it nice and low. The best part about the LCAs are they use the stock strut setup, so you’re ride is smooth.

What size rims and tires are in your sig??? I like how they fill the wheel well but don't look to big...do you have anymore info on them?

Are flip kits something that I will be able to install in my driveway?? And is there one that you would recommend?

just depends on how hands on you are. I was able to do it by myself, with enough jacks and stands. you do have to cut the head of the bolt on the leaf on the fuel tank side, either that or drop the fuel tank alltogether. It's hardened, so you'll be there for a little bit with a sawzall. other than that, its just a matter of one side at a time, pulling the leafs off, pulling out one center pin and reversing the other in each leaf, and then re-installing with the cradle you get with the kit.

I agree that the lowering springs will stiffen the ride and you will probably have to replace the shocks due to the reduced travel. I am lowering my screw with the DJM 3/5 kit in order to maintain the ride quality, but reduce the height. I don't see any rear axle clearance problems with this drop.
Don't forget to get an alignment and check your pinion angle during the drop to eliminate vibration.

the tires are photoshopped in my sig, on my truck they are a 275/45-22 with a 2/4 drop
