lifted 2wd

I was wanting to know what people think of a lifted 2wd? I think that a 2wd should be slammed and a 4wd should be jacked up. I have seen alot of 2wd's that look good lifted though. Also, does anyone know why people lift the 2wd? I am not trying to bash anyone who does it, I just want to understand it.

i think it is just a preference thing....I really don't understand but if i bought a 2WD (i wouldn't, another thing i don't understand is why 2wd's are even built but who am i) i would rather lift it than lower it....

I agree man, I love the look, but I like havin the capabilities also. If I had a 2wd, I would put a supercharger in that thing n race it or something. Something like that guy on here that has a New red Lincoln Mark lt supercharged, that thing is freakin awesome!

i have a lifted 2wd and love it. I ride motocross and sometimes get into some hairy situations where it actually comes into play. i live in phoenix, az so we don't go "mudding" too often so theres no need for 4wd. granted sometimes when i get stuck in the sand i wish i had it. Not to bash on lowering but i think Chevy's look a hell of a lot better dropped than fords do (just my opinion). alot of the lifted trucks you see today never even touch the dirt. It's just what you like i guess.

90% of guys with lifted trucks don't off-road them anyway. And 100% of guys do it at least largely for the looks alone, in not entirely.

2wd or 4wd, lifts can look great. Some of the nicest lifted trucks I've seen were 2wd...

Where, in any book, does it say you have to lift it if its a 4x4 and lower it if its a 2wd?

"OMG, that is the sweetest lifted truck Ive ever seen!!....oh...wait...its front wheels cant move on thier own so I think its dumb now" Thats what I hear in my head when someone says "only lift a 4x4 and lower a 2wd". Sounds pretty stupid huh? Thats basically what someone is saying though.

Just because its a 2wd doesnt mean it cant go offroading. Granted, not as much as a 4x4, but it still can. How many times do you ACTUALLY need to put it in 4 wheel drive? Not "I think I need it" but actually need it?
My last truck was a lifted 2wd and it probably did more offroading than 80% of the 4x4s on here.

2x4...4x4...they are both trucks...so who cares what you do with them.

Its kinda like saying "Your from Mexico, so you can only eat tacos, and your from Italy, so you can only eat pasta"

Well, the reason I was asking is because I wanted to know if it was mostly for show. Because down here all the trucks that go mudding would have to be 4x4 because all a 2wd would do it get buried in the gumbo mud, which a lot of the 4x4's get buried also. Most people in this area would make fun of a lifted 2wd because they would say its a waist of money, but they also say that to the people that lower or bag their trucks. As I stated in the first post I was just wanting to see why they did it. I am all for someone fixing up their truck based on how they want it to look, just wanting to see why most do it. It's the same as the offroaders asking why people bag their rides.

thats about right, anyone who REALLY offroads isn't going to use a brand new ifs f150 with a huge lift monster tires and weak drivetrain in fact lifted trucks are worse offroad due to a higher center of gravity, its all about low center, clearence, and high approach angles

On my 2wd 05 I put on a 2" AS up front and a 1.5" AAL in the rear, didn't like it after a while, then took them off the truck and dropped the rear with 2" GF shackles. Now I like it.

All what you want, it's all up to you.
