Lets talk about the airide kit

We need a thread dedicated to it so...Whats up with it? I can't seem to find alot of info all in one place. Questions being, who all has it and what did it cost, -from where, just to get it? I can do the install on it no prob and need to no if I'd have to do a C-notch ,any fabwork etc... which is no biggy, I'm just pondering between the belltech 3/5,(I know theres a major diiference and all but the Belltech is the next lowest kit I have been able to find) and the airbar/shockwave setup, money doesn't really matter, reliability is a major issue with me though, just any facts, opinions, or links everyone has would be great, I can't seem to find a link for the complete kit Ready to Run, so lets hear some input ...thanks

Me too Drew, I just got a decent paying job $17/hr. I might be able afford some chit this year!!! What is the biggest load you've put on your truck?

Also, a reliability Q, I have talked to couple different guys about their bags at my school, and it seems like they are replacing solenoids/valves all the time, any comments? Also, in your experience how long is the bag life?

Thanks again,
-Andrew

http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/airbar.asp

click the link....ART has the best setups...they are for everyday use...but they do not raise or drop crazy fast but they are complete and very reliable. i did my 62 chevy with an ART setup using the strong arms...very easy install myself. great products, some people will claim they are overpriced...but those are people that cant add...they think they can nickel and dime a setup and beat a ART set up by 3-400 bucks. but with Air Ride Technologies you get every nut bolt lines wires....oh yeah new ball joints and bushings if you get thier strong arms. on the truck 4 link you notch the frame and the 4 link (comes powder coated) bolts into existing frame holes from where leafsprings were.

here is my 62 with art setup

ok. so lets say you do order the airbar/shockwave setup. I would assume that it doesnt include the compressor, tanks, valves so and so on. Ive heard that you want to stay away from rubber hoses as much as possible. is that true?

nope you would still need a ridepro set up...this would include tank, compressor, valves and "brains" for your set up. and what do you mean by rubber hoses/line...art comes with d.o.t. certified soft plastic type lines bendable but does not kink (you can make it kink but not just running in rails and through firewalls it will not) i also think the line will handle up to 200 psi. most all air ride set ups run this plastic type tubing.

so total for a 04 and up f150 is about $4000

ridepro has auto ride height on start up...turn car on and it raises to a pre set height that you choose. it also has a digital read-out/controller for the interior compartment. you can also add on a remote kinda like a auto alarm to raise and lower your vehicle once your out...its pretty cool to pull up and have everyone drool over your ride you walk off to some distance and pancake it down to bumpstops....to see every one look around and look in puzzlement is great.

You should start doing research because there are many more options for your model truck vs. the 04 up...

Lower than this? Yes...

hell yeah alot lower than that....i have seen the 97-03 model truck tuck 26's and lay frame...but that is serious rear notch/bed cut and front inner fender cut out...you could prob tuck 20's with rear notch only not cutting into the bed or front inner fender and get less than 3 or so inches frame to ground.
