I agree with APT and Jason...

You need a bigger battery!

I'm running two Fosgate amps: bd1500, and 800.4 all off the stock battery and alternator. I do have a 1 farad cap installed, but that was put in after to keep all the lights from dimming. My alternator NEVER made any unusual noises.

At near full volume my system is pushing in excess of 2000 watts without any problems what-so-ever.

Double check your wiring runs to see if anything is partially open, loose, or grounded. Somewhere you're getting an excessive current draw. And from what you've explained here, it shouldn't be from 1 500 watt amp. It doesn't add up. As much as a pain in the *** as it may be, it sounds as though you need to go over the entire hookup/setup one more time.

If that is the problem, then it won't matter what kind of battery, what size cap, or bigger alternator. Something's destined for failure. And it could end up taking out the hundreds or thousands of dollars you've spent on your system.

Good luck and let us know what you turn up.........JB
