Question Suggestions?

Hi I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to car stereos. What would you suggest is the best audio setup for a newer f-150 with a regular size cab, on a budget of 1700$ including deck, amp(s),sub(s),speakers etc??

Also I have noticed some rattling in other f-150s when equipped with good sound any ideas on a cheap way to remedy this?

Thanks,
Mag

hmmm....

well i did some focals (165vs) in the kick pannels

the focals costed about 225 and the kick pannels were 140 so right there you have 365 spent.

then as far as the amp to power them I first had a jl 300/2 on it and i was pretty happy with it then i upgraded to the zapco 350x2
and i love this one. i paid 550 for it. but personaly i think th JL would work just fine for you and save you about 200-300 bucks... so the amp would be about 325 so you total would be up to 690

as far as subs....tough choice...you can go the jl route, kicker, adire audio,id max, audio mobile, and many others. i would personally try out the audiomobiles evo's. they arout 200 a piece right now for the 12s or 179 for the 10s

so if you got one of the 12s ud be up to 890

as far as the amps for the sub i would go with JLB 1200.1 you can get one for 300 at most off the net...yes i know everyone looks down on jbl in the car audio section , EXCEPT of the amps...they are good amps and put out their power.

so you total is now up to 1190

also take in account wire ... not many concider this when settign up a system but expend to spend around 200 bucks on wire and misc stuff. and box building materials

so now your up 1390

and as far as the cd player...its hard to say pick whatever one fits your needs if you want really good sq go with eclise or nak... if you want features with desent sq go with pionner...basically you cant go wrong with eclise, nak, pionner, panasonic, and possibly alpine (never delt with alpine)

with all that i have listed youd be very impessed with the sq and the overall it should be a system that cranks and sounds great...but you can get off a lot cheaper with some others comps but if you have 1700 to spend then those are the ones Id pick.

Hey HAZARD.. nice set up. I bet it sounds AWESOME.
You don't leave that long *** amp just sitting in your back seat do you?

MAG... I spent just under $1500 on my current system. Plus $250 bucks for my head unit that I've had for like 3 years. That includes.. box materials, wiring, and all stereo equipment. I bought ALL of the stereo equipment online (except CD Player). I havent calculated how much it saved me but I guarantee you it was quite a bit.

Oh yeah... there's not a single rattle inside my truck. The only rattle I've noticed on the outside is the plastic piece that surrounds the back window was rattling against the body of the truck. That was easily solved with a little rubber casket stuffed between the plastic piece and the body where the rattle originated.

If you want prices and where I purchased everything.. just let me know.. I'll have to pull out the reciepts cuz I don't remember exactly at the moment.

Here's what I have:

yes i do have the leave the amp on the back seat... only until i find a new back part of the back seat then im going to cut into the fabric and mount the amp in the center about 4 to 6 inches from the top flush in the back part of the back seat....

just havent had the time to goto a junkyard or parts dealer and find one...or the money

I hear ya man. I've got a problem to resolve with the surround of my sub pressing against the under side of my back seat. For the time being.. I just leave my back seat flipped up and I just can't turn it up much if I've got to have the back seat down (if someone is riding back there or something). Just kinda been lazy about it lately.
