Sub location question

I have a 2003 Super Crew and am looking to improve the sound system. Had one retailer recommend adding an amp and small sub to existing system. This seems okay but I have a couple concerns:

1. I want to keep the ability to fold the rear seats down and I know most subs go in a box below the rear seats.

2. I don't want to cut out the entire back panel behind the seat.

I've seen other members who have a Crutchfield sub that goes on the floorboard in the front. Has anyone had any experience with this? And what about a tubular sub? Looking for some recommendations.

Goal is not to let the entire city know I have the radio on, just to improve my current set up.

Thanks!
