Anyone put 12's in a...

Has anyone be able to fit 2 12 inch subs behind the seat of a regular cab f-150? I tried 2 years ago and couldnt do it, but then i had no idea what i was doing... So has anyone else tried it? I currently have 2 10's behind my seat and it is cutting it close... thanks

2 tens in the right box should pound hard enough if u ask me

and when you consider you need about 1.5cubic feet for each 12" sub, well, your just not going to have the space

If you're going to be tight on space, check out the diamond audio M5 12's at diamondaudio.com. They work great as long as you have at least .70ft³. Although air space and power are inversely proportional so you'll need a lot more power with the lower space

i think if you could find somewhere to put your amp, then you would have a shoot at making it work, and that is if you have a bench seat

I have a 12"MTX behind the seat of my truck now. It's tight, but the box has 1.3^3ft. Its 24" wide, so I could do 2 12's w/o a prob. Actually I am considering using a box 48" wide, slot ported for a DD 3512 with 600w or so. That will really rattle your fillings!

Talking Hell yeah!!!

A 3512 would definately rock a reg. cab truck. I'm running a slot ported 9512 right now.

Personally I wanted 3 12" JL's in my Lightning, the Lightning I don't yet own....but I don't forsee a problem with gettin 2 12's in there, especially if u do some fiberglass work and make the box tall like the thunderforms, you should have problems gettin enough airspace so long as you use the right subs, like solobarics or w3's that don't require as much airspace....

Thumbs up Actually...

You'd be bettter off with a W0 if space is a problem...the W3's want 1.25^3 ft. sealed. To hell with it, just do a single ported 10" or 12" and save the money and feel the difference. Theirs only about a 3 db gain with every additional sub, and that's if you feed that additional sub an equal amount of power instead of adding it to the existing amp.

(...unless the addition of the extra sub lowers the impedence load on the amp, thus doubling it's output, assuming it can handle the lesser resistance.)

Polk Momo's can use an insainly small space......and handle a lot of power. I run a single Polk DX 12 behind one seat.....I think I have a .75ft^3 box (getting ready to build a new one). As for the amp(s) - they go under the seat really nicely!

I think they were around 1.0-1.2cu.ft each sub. Watch out you have enough depth to mount them in the box and don't forget you'll need at least 1.5 to 2 inches space so the vented pole piece can breath on the top of the magnet assembly.

Audiobahn used to have all the sub specs on their website. Can't find it anymore. Time to complain!
