Can it be done?

I have a '97 reg. cab and I bought a pioneer DEH-3300 50wx4 HU...I dont want to entertain everybody around my truck, but I would like to have some good sound....does anybody have recomendations an which speakers i should replace my stock ones with?
I dont want to screw with an amp and subwoofers (having a reg cab I really value what little space that I do have!), but I still want some descent bass. So I was just curious if it is possible to replace my 2 rear stock speakers with a couple 8" woofers.....It works in my brain, I just wanted to hear from someone who would know better than me!

thanx!

I've got a good bud who runs a REALLY OLD Chevy. Black windows and a new Lemon Yellow paint job. Cragar mags. Dice on the rearview mirror. Big *** engine without any EPA garbage on it. A rear Holley carb. A really nice piece of tin, even tho' it's a Chevy. He didn't have space either, but insisted on reasonable bottom end. He mounted a Bazooka Tube on the Overhead, pointed left/right, about 3-4 inches in from the rear window (where the overhead flattened out above the window). Tucked the wires in the lining. Looked fine. Worked for him, but I didn't see why the same thing wouldn't fit under his seat. Infinity also makes a bass module that is extremely small, and looks like you can mount almost anywhere. You'll have to get powered subwoofs (like the bazooks or Infinity), otherwise you may as well not bother. Bottom end requires power.

Phatty - the powered sub that Sundog spoke of by Infinity is the Basslink - I highly recommend this unit. I recently installed one in my 2001 Centurion wakeboard boat and the thing is incredible!!! 10-inch sub with 10-inch passive radiator - 200 watt Class-D amp built in. Can be mounted standing up or lying flat - not sure how it would fit in your cab behind the seat.

Question

Very interesting concept, but does it really put out enough bass, to wake up the neighborhood?? I've got about the same power running into a Polk 10", and it doesn't exactly "wake up the neighborhood", lol! It does hit plenty hard for one ten, though. Does the passive radiator make that much of a difference in the bass output? I guess it does, the way they hype it.,,,,98
