I was wondering what sizee the door speakers in the 2001 F150 was. Is it a 6x8, or is it a 6.5? BTW what size are the ones in the rear?

Thanks any help would be great.

6x8

I'm pretty sure that they are 6x8 in both the front and rear. At least that's what my 2000 has.

they are 6x8 in my 98 but i replaced them with 6 1/2 alpines so the 6 1/2 will probably fit if thats what you want to put in

01 HAS THE 6X8. A direct replacement would be another 6x8 or the 5x7. both have the same basic frame size. A 6.5" round, will need a spacer plate, or some panel cutting to fit. 5.25" will fit without cutting but you still need a thin mounting plate.

which Alpines do you have? I was thinking about replacing all 4 speakers in my truck, and mabee a 10" R or S. Do the alpines sound much better than the factory ones. I am also thinking about an alpine amp, so everything would be ////Alpine

phillip,
i have a 2way 120 watt(30rms) the only thing resembling a model is sps-1629...they sound great!! and i assume you are going to replace the factory stereo also b/c i think that helps a little also... i like it loud and you can hear them great going down the highway which was the goal i had in mind when i bought them
(i bought them for my car which i wrecked and didnt feel like buying yet another set) but i am happy with them and i have had them for about 7 months if you add a sub and an amp it should be thumpin'
good luck

Buy components for the front stage if you can budget it. You'll be glad you did. MUCH cleaner sound that you can crank till you ears bleed, properly amped. I would suggest you spend your hard-earned money on your front stage/amp first and leave the back alone for now. I replaced both front and rear in my SCrew with comps in the front, and coax in the rear. I may as well have not touched the back. THe front stage is so clear and powerful, I just can't hear the back. I'm going to rip out the nice 6.5 rounds I put in back and replace them with a good set of midrange or tweets -- just something to give a little added brightness and fill.
