New System

I went and priced a stereo system today for my truck and I liked what they had for me, but I don't want to pay THAT ($2,300) much right now. If I don't put in the front JL Audio 3 ways and the rear JLs I can save $800. Can I have them hook up the sysytem (amp and subwoofers) and have them run the amp to the current OEM speakers? Will this work until I can afford to buy the rest of the system?

Thanks

That will depend on just how much power you are talking about. I ran my stock doors with an MTX RT4180 crossedover at 120Hz for about 6months without any problems. The amp is pushing bout 60 watts per channel

I agree let us know the amount of power..50 or 60 watts is farily safe but for 20 bucks you can have peace of mind and get some nice wire.. Remember if you wire your amp I the power and the ground HAVE to be the same size do not go smaller on the ground side or it cancels out the size on the power side...
Plus put in a inline fuse no more then 12 inches from the battery. never count on the amp fuse tp kick out. fuse should be 1 size smaller then your amp fuse.. protect your investment.. JL is very nice equiptment.. Enjoy!!

dude... run the new speakers first (the factory ones blow), THEN replace your head unit and/or get an amp.
