Speaker Upgrade - Polk, or Infinity, or...
I put some jl570 TRs in my doors with the built in tweeters. They sound excellent compare to the infinity ref series. It was a disappointment up in the mid and highs. Wish I knew of the kappas when I bought those, cause they kind of ruined me on infinity.
Hello, new user but have searched pretty extensively on this site. I plan to upgrade my Supercrew speakers (from audiophile system with Sony upgrade).
Currently, I have a Sony XAV701HD head unit. Just installed it, and now my sotck speakers no longer suffice. At high volume they just don't have it anymore.
I will not be using an external amp. I have read the great reveiws on the Polk DB571's, yet when I spoke with a representative at Crutchfield, he recommended that I purchase the Infinity Reference X REF-8602cfx instead. He talked me out of purchasing components up front with coaxial's in the rear because he said without an amp they would not be ideal.

Polk's -

So, any experience with the Infinity REF-8602cfx over the Polk db571's? Or am I looking in the wrong direction.
Thanks in advance -

I have Polk MM's on my boat (a sub and 4x 6.5" co-axial and they are fantastic... But for my Lightning, I found Focal to be super-clean, crisp and the dynamic range is out of this world. I'm a huge Polk fan though, so I was surprised that the Focal's caugh my ey...er, EAR
