Adding 6.5 components and have some questions..
Liike the title says I'm looking to add a set of 6.5 components to my 06 XLT SuperCab. I was wondering where is everyone mounting the crossovers? I did some searching and seen some people are mounting under the arm rest on the door. Is that a good spot? Also I would like to mount the tweeters in the factory tweeter location on the door by the Handle right above the speaker. Will the aftermarket tweeter fit in there or is there some modification that has to be done?
What I did...
I have a 2004 XLT with an extended cab (no seat behind the front seats). Because my crossovers had a switch on them, I mounted them in the door pocket (toward the front, near where the bottle holders are).

It actually looks good, to me, but the last time I posted this picture, several people decided to reply to tell me what a terrible decision I had made... Wasn't very nice, in my opinion...
Since the door panel had a spot for a tweeter, I used that location. I did have to use a dremel to enlarge the hole a tad, but it was rather easy to do. I used a rubber grommet to make the hole I drilled in the door panel 'pretty'...

Ive seen a couple people with this generation F150 and they were able to mount them below the window switch trim inside the door panel so that when they pull the window switch trim they have access to it. There is also MANY places you could mount them to behind the door panel. Its really common to hot glue a crossover to the door panel.
