Question System Upgrade opinons

Hey everyone! So the wife and I just ordered a new 2012 FX4 SCREW this month and will be taking delivery in Sept., and I am planning on overhauling the garbage factory system.

I have been reading stuff online for probably the last month or so trying to decide what to put in there. And I think I have it narrowed down. My goal for this system is SQ.I listen to everything musically. So I need something that will sounds great across the board. I am planning on doing most all the work I can myself, or soliciting friends who are fabricators. I'm no beginner to install, but I know where my weaknesses lie. Custom fabrication (IE, fiberglassing) is one of them

Short of the long...I'm going 6-1/2" comps in the front and rear door, and a 10" shallow mount sub under the bench. New wires to the doors, yada yada.

Just looking for honest opinons. I don't have any good shops to go to for the next few months as I am overseas.

Planned Install:

Second Skin Audio:
Damplifier Pro
Luxury Liner Pro
*all 4 doors, the floors, back of the cab, and if I feel ambitious...The headliner

Comps:
F&R http://www.jbl.com/estore/jbl/us/pro...C608GTI%20MKII

4 Channel Amp:
http://www.jbl.com/estore/jbl/us/pro...p?pid=MS-A1004

or

Sub:

Mono Amp:

HU:

or

Any thoughts and opinons are greatly welcomed. All I ask is don't be a douche canoe about it. I am well aware only "your" ears can determine what sounds best.

All the parts you chose look like a decent setup, my only question is is there a reason your going with all jl and jbl? For the price of there stuff you have a lot of other pretty good possibilities.

I'm not apposed to other brands. I know JBL produces great sound. Harmon International has always been pretty good. I have a small 5.1 in my office at home (HT is way different, I know) But I also like the quality to $$ ratio with that setup. I can get the speakers from JBL direct, and the amps from Sonic a lot cheaper. I am very particular when it comes to sound. I don't plan on running any subs down at 1Ω and over powering the rest of the components.

Don't get me wrong. I have considered JL (ZR or C5), The Alpine Type X pro comps, RF, even kicker (Qs or Rs). I want something that sounds good. If that means going out of my normal wheel house of brand selection, so be it. I haven't been in a car audio shop for almost 3 years now. I know a lot has changed since then.

I appreciate the feed back

I totally agree with the quality of those brands for speakers and jl amps, I don't know too much about jbl amps but I've heard good things on those too. But for components morel, focal, and massive are all some less than mainstream brands that produce great products for a reasonable price also.

Also since your going for an sq build have you considered adding an equalizer or something like the Rockford 3.60?

I have looked at some of the Focal speakers. I know they can get way up there in price. (Utopia Be), but have heard good things about them. I think there is a shop near me here in Italy that has them. May have to venture on down there.

I have really, really considered the new 3Sixty.3. I was a fan of the the 3.2, and from what I can tell, they have made this one even better. I just wish they would get to getting the app going for Droid, or even my iPad.

Any suggestions on subs? I know a lot of people have been raving over the 13TW5-3.

Are you running anything in your rig?

Thats actually the sub ive been considering getting. I've ran plenty of things in my truck, close to 20 different subs ha but nothing's ever been for sq which is what I've decided to go for now. My last setup was a set of skar vvx 8's getting about 800 a piece from an mmats d300hc, sounded great but I'm just tired of overly loud bass now. For subs I've been considering either the jl tw5, the alpine type r shallow which I've heard has better low end extension, tighter bass, and it's cheaper than the jl one too, by a lot. And the only other sub I want is the stereo integrity bmkiv shallow which is probably the best out of those three, but it hasn't gone into production yet.

right on. Yeah, I have looked at the Type-R as well, but I seem to get mixed reviews on them. I think for SQ it's probably going to have be JL. I swore I would never spend money on their stuff..I also swore I would never own a mac. And yet, here I am typing this on my MacBook Pro LMAO.

I have been looking at the Focals. There are so many damned options. Jeezy Creezy. There is one amp of theirs I like the design of. The Solid 4 powder coated in red. Would give some sweet contrast in the truck. I went with the FX4 with appearance package. I think that red amp would look pretty money with the red pipe and inserts

If you have the time to wait depending when the new stereo integrity bm comes out, hopefully by the end of summer considering its was supposed to be ready a couple weeks back, when they go on preorder it's usually around 150 and once they're off preorder it'll be somewhere around 250-300 but they are by far the best sq shallow mount sub, they put the jl to shame. Theyres alot of great reviews on them over on diyma.
