Focal component upgrade
Planning on replacing stock HU with Pioneer AVH-P4400BH and I already have a Rockford Fosgate P400-4(50x4) or (200x2). My question is which Focal set would give me the best sound quality. My first option is the Focal polyglass 165 V30 with amp bridged for 200 watts each. Second option would be Focal Preformance PS165's up front, and Focal Intergration IC 570 in the rear. Price is a concern but planning on $500 to $600 for speakers. Most reviews seem positive for both sets. Is rear fill a waste of money since I rarely have passengers in back? Also wondering if 200watts would be a little too much power for the V30's which are rated for a max of 160. thanks,
If you know how to set the gain properly the v30's will be fine running bridged. You could run them on 50 watts first and then try them bridged. Remember RMS is not a power requirement.
I would spend the most money on the front speakers. Focal is like any other speaker brand, you get what you pay for. I have been running the focal 165kr's for two years now and have never been more satisfied.
