Recent Issues with Fox Acoustics [FOXBOX]
Anyone ordered a Fox Box within the past few weeks? Here's my currently terrible experience with Fox Acoustics:
5/16:
Ordered F150-110-04 2004-08 FORD F-150 1-10" SUPER CAB / SUPER CREW SUB BOX & 09-10 SUPERCAB
$100.00 from Foxacoustics.com
5/30:
Received the wrong box, they sent me the F150-210-04, which is the dual 10'' downfiring box rather than the single that I ordered. Contacted them and they shipped my correct order out next day..no complaints.
6/5:
Got the right box but now I'm really pissed. The first thing I noticed is that the box is engraved saying .75 ft^3 airspace, not the claimed .8 on the website, but that's okay...still works fine for my 10" w3. What doesnt work for my w3 is that the mounting depth is not as claimed. I'm aware that many of you on f150online have successfully isntalled the w3v3 in this box, but mine is different. The magnet is hitting the cap before the basket sits flush with the box. It simply does not fit. Measuring tape is telling me that this box is approximately 5 3/4" deep, a far cry from the claimed 6 1/8" and not compatible with the w3 which requires 5.93". And yes, the cap is screwed on the right way, despite the directions saying it needs to be flipped, it came installed outwards already.
The instructions also indicate that a corner support needs to be installed. These were not included in either shipment! I am absolutely mind blown that I could have such bad luck with this company after all the great reviews that I've read. Anyone else having issues??
Is is possible that they simply put the wrong cap on top of the box thus limiting mounting depth?
Or are they really screwing up so bad lately as to build the box entirely wrong?
I am going to contact them first thing in the morning but just wanted to go ahead and put this out there as collateral, and to see if anyone else has made a purchase from them recently and having issues?
I hope Fox Acoustics will be able to make this right so that I can come back and let let you guys know that this was only a hiccup for a supposedly great business!!
