Need advice on 10" sub purchase
Need advice on 10" sub purchase
2005 SCREW.
I am planning to install a single 10 under the rear seat. I will be building the box myself. With so many options on subs and prices I would like to get some suggestions on a good 10 inch sub that is in the lower price range. I listen to country mostly but also listen to rap/hip hop.
The funny thing is that I currently have an 8 inch MTX Impulse kit from the mid 90's I believe that I paid $10.00 for from Craigs list 3 years ago. It is starting to get a bit of wear on it. LOL
It does surprisingly well but it fails to hit any sort of bass drop.
I have looked at many different subs and the alpine type Rs are out of my price range. I don't plan on adding an additional 10 or anything so I do need an amp with a built in crossover as I don't want to add any active crossovers or anything like that.
Thanks

Budget for amp and sub I was looking at around 125 to 150 if possible at most.
The mounting depth I am not 100% positive on as I have not researched it quite enough to know but it will be a down firing box under the rear seat of a 2005 Screw. I was thinking 5 inches was about the going depth but I could be a little off on that.
Maybe someone can shine some light on that as the mounting depth is what was clouding my vision as well.

by the way I have looked on http://www.sonicelectronix.com and realized there were so many options. Back many years I ago I designed and installed systems but back then it was way easier due to price and brand selection.
I don't really have a problem buying used. I know there are plenty of 10s that will fit under the seat so I just need to do some research on them I guess. The problem with buying used is most people around my area have 12s due to there installation in a car.

I've heard that Fosgate made a turn around again in their last few amp series....so thats a decent choice. I perfer some old school amps compared to the newer stuff. Maybe a soundstream Ref series, zapco, even maybe a JL 500/1 slash v2....that way you have the crossover built in and can even use a OEM headunit and go directly into that amp.
