simple set of speakers
i have a 2011 supercrew. i mainly listen to country music and rock. what would be some good decently priced replacements for my stock ones. also i dont know if i should get a sub or not and if so one or two? or what size. and should i get an amp or not? Im fine with my head unit but if i wanted a new one would i have to build like a shroud or something for it? thanks for the help
The best thing you could do is replace the head unit, door speakers, amp the door speakers and add a sub or two. It all comes down to how much you want to spend. Car audio is like most things in life, you get what you pay for.
For the head unit, there should be a dash kit you can buy for it.

It all depends on how extreme you want to get. In my opinion, stock systems really lack in treble and bass. I'd go with at least a pair of 3 ways which really help with treble especially on a stock head unit. You don't have to run an amplifier on them unless you demand your music to get loud. Everyone has their choice of brand, I personally like Alpine, Pioneer, Polk, Infinity, and a few others, great sound without breaking the bank. As for adding a sub, you'll definitely want to add one. A single 10" woofer compliments music fairly, but adding a larger woofer, or even more woofers, will give a much deeper "thud" to the bass, and more rich and filling sound comparatively speaking. And if you add a sub, you will NEED to add an amplifier so your sub woofer will get low frequencies only, and enough power to operate to it's potential. I like the sound of sealed enclosures, much more linear response, but some people like the extra volume given from a ported enclosure along with a tunable bass system. If you went with an aftermarket head unit, I believe there are radio shrouds you can get. I'd go with a pair of 10" subs, a 1000W amp (rated to the impedance of both subs) and a sealed enclosure. Without knowing exactly how you like your music, we really can't make any judgements, only suggestions.
