subwoofer help

I have a ntx thunderform single 12 inch woofer box in my truck...well the cheap mtx woofer that comes with it didn't last at all. Now I need a new sub has any tried a punch p3 or alpine type r slim woofer in this box before? I'm looking for something that hits hard with good quality using a mtx jack hammer mono block amp rated at 300 watts rms at 2 ohm to push the sub.

Thanks in advance!

What is the mounting depth on the box? It will be easier to recommend a replacement.

I have never tried the Rockford sub so I have no idea how it sounds. The Alpine is a single 4 ohm sub, so you would need an amp upgrade for sure.

RF sub...

Rockford shallow subs are available as DVC 2ohm / DVC 4ohm.
I have no gripes about my RF 10 inch DVC sub (sealed enclosure).
RF is known for subs, you can't go wrong.

See what works best.

This may a great opportunity/excuse to buy a bigger amp.
