It'll definitely give you clarity, but the BM's aren't something your gonna hear in the car in front of you. Somewhere you'll have to sacrifice one or the other.

2 BMs is very audible outside the cab. Not gonna shatter windows but you will definitely be heard and if you want can be that annoying guy at a stoplight thumping away. If you've ever toyed with a system that has 2 above average sealed 12's with ~15mm of extension, that's the output the BMs put forth. Its just surprising that there's no roll off, 25Hz is powerful.

Sweet, i want it audible! i dislike metal rattling and that whole "dirty bass" certain individuals carry around. i'll wait it off and go for the new mk subs when they come out. Thanks for the advice Pizza and mSall

update: my buddy is selling his heavily modded colorado, in hopes of acquiring new house, so i decided to help him out.

i purchased from him 2 alpine 1242D subs, 12" dual 4 ohm. a planet audio 2000.1 amp (not my taste but it was a bundle deal, and a power cap 2.0 farad.

im defintely using my subs for the project, but i know better when it comes to amps. What should i look for to feed these subs? i'm thinking a mmats 2000.1 because i can do one ohm stable and get the most juice to the subs, BUT its got a $600+ price tag. i should of posted this question in the amplifiers section but i already had this thread started. My question is any amps out there that wont break the bank and provide good power and still run at one ohm stable? i dont want to spend anymore then $500-$600 worst case scenario.

Thanks guys.

p.s. NO im not installing the power cap, rather get a H/O alt and do the big 4 this summer

The mmats will be way to much power for those subs alpine generally rates there speakers at what they can actually take, where as mmats amps are highly underrated and iirc I've seen where that amps clamped out at about 2600ish rms rising to 1.5ohms. The mmats 1400.1 would be a cheaper and better balanced option, my old mmats d300hc I just sold was essentially the same as the 1400 and its been clamped at close to 1750rms, not to mention I went from a hifonics 1200 watt amp which had horrible dimming issues on my lights to that mmats amp and I barely had none, highly efficient amps right there.

Another solid choice would be an audioque 2200 and you'd just have to cut the gain back some, but they're reasonably priced. And then there's sundown amps too but youd have to pick it up used to get it under 500ish. I know kicker, Rockford, and alpine all have amps around 2000rms but they can get pretty pricey due to the name. Oh and one more decent one I can think of is the new skar audio amp, they perform a lot like the sundown 1500 with a cheaper price tag.

Thanks for tip on the mmats, i'll see what i find, my reasoning for a bigger amp then the subs can handle is if i want to get Fi later

i'm going to have to do a seat lift. feel more comfortable doing that now since i hardly have ppl in the back anyways
