Polk 6.5 Components - do they fit?

I have DB571's in the front doors that I am moving to the back doors in my 2005 FX4 and I have a Kenwood DNX HU.

I am looking at installing an amp and want to install either MM6501's or DB6501's in the front but Crutchfield says they won't fit...

Has anybody installed these and can tell me if they fit and also what needs to be cut / trimmed so I can decide if I think it is worth the trouble?

Otherwise, I could just buy the 5.25 component version since they apparently fit easily according to Crutchfield.

Thanks!

i will let you know soon....i ordered a set of focal 5 1/4 130a1s for front doors then saw a good deal on some focal 165 a1s and got them too....i think you can fit them with some kinda adaptor plate...the 5 1/4s came with a plate.....im gunna try to put the 6 1/2s in the front and 5 1/4s in back with tweets on all 4 doors...

Yes people have put them in, but no they're not a straight swap because they're not the same size as factory which is 5x7 iirc. So you will need to make an adapter plate or possibly drill some new holes.

5 1/4 fit easily with an adapter but I would image it would be a tight fit for 6.5's might even have to trim a bit out of the speaker mounting hole and an adapter (i haven't tried it so that is just what I believe, but anything is possible)
