First Head unit install and need help!

I purchased a new head unit and almost finished the wiring. The first question is that i have an orange and black wire that's for grounding the dimmer that seems out of place. Do I necessarily need to ground that wire. Also on the same harness there's an orange and white wire which is for the dimmer, but there's only one all orange wire on the other harness. What do i connect to? Another question is that the ground that comes with the stereo is thicker and ready to bolt on compared to the one on the harness which is thin. Should i strip both and crimp together? I apologize for how dumb these questions may seem. lol

I tapped my dimmer wire to the lt blue with red stripe behind the headlight switch which actually dims the lights on the dash too. mine is a 2001. I would T-tap that ground and use the larger ground wire.

Cool. Is it a dvd head unit? Most of those have a pink wire that goes to a parking curcuit. Put that to a toggle switch and a ground wire to the other side of the switch and you can play DVD'S while driving if you have company...lol
