Enclosure Build For 7lug
The cut at 40hz is just reducing the level at 40hz and I also did some at 37hz I think... just took out some of the boominess it had before. These trucks peak out around 35-40hz, and my subs were just a bit too exaggerated in that range.
I'm not too familiar with the Pioneer, but it should help. I still need to amp my fronts so I can utilize TA.

I know exactly what you mean. These cabs have like a built in bass boost at those hz. The ouput just jumps. Perfect for bass heads. One thing I do hate is the loss in output when we're all sealed up. Its a night and day difference.
Yes the F150 has a vehicle resonance frequency around 40Hz, so notes played by the woofer in this region are exaggerated by the vehicle itself....it has nothing to do with the enclosure unless your tuning frequency is near there...it has more to do with cabin gain in the vehicle. I had to cut around that area too with the sealed BMs I use. Cabin gain is huge with windows down since the cab acts as a large ported enclosure. But as weazel mentioned, the cab is smaller than other cars so with the windows all sealed up and no separated trunk the output is reduced. Fix for this? Blowthrough.
An EQ is almost always necesary. I can't stand any system that has huge peaks and dips across the frequency range. Flat 20-20k = pure bliss.
