There is a simple fix for the sub box sitting a little high.

Sit in the back seat for a while and bounce a little. I am a pretty big boy and with a little weight the capet pad will sink a bit. Makes for a really nice fit.

In fact I had made mine to fit before the pressure sit and I ended up using nail in plastic caps made for the bottom of chairs.
I looked at he seat today after a few people tried out the "massage chair" in back and its now sitting even with the other back seat. I just wish I could use my whole rubber mat that came with the truck. I may cut it out.

The amps are super small which is why I went with them, that and I got a stupid price for them at a local shop that price matches. I was going to go with the kicker 350 and 750 but they were just huge amps. Much happier with the set up as is.

i think its the amp. because i had it hooked up using speaker wire to rca converters for a while and it popped too. way worse actually.

after the lc6i it pops less, but its still there.

Yea i have a PAC tr-4 harness sitting in my garage and i am thinking about installing it. But im also thinking about redoing some of my system stuff. just mounting locations and wiring. so if i do that im gonna do it all at once.

So idk when ill get the tr-4 in. but ill make sure to make a post or something bout it.

I wish i would have mounted my JL amp upside down like you. Would make servicing it much much easier. BUt i dont want to runt he risk of putting a barrel crimp connector on my amp power to extend it. because now if i do that my power cable isnt long enough.

I was glad the little badges allowed you to mount any way you wanted. It does make it a load easier to set up. My mounting was a little close to each other so the bottom one is a little harder. I left all 20 feet of power cable incase I needed to move it. I did cut my ground but thats easier to get 5 feet of new ground rather than running 20 feet of new power wire.

So does your pop when you turn it on as well? Mine only does it when I turn off the sound. Where did you do your ground? Im getting whine through my sub, I cant hear it on the door speakers just the sub at low volume and hitting the gas.

i am grounded to the passenger side rear seat bolt. i think its welded to the body, so its def a good spot.

i didnt realize the badges on the JL covers were moveable! SOB i would have mounted like you if i had known that! I might have to suck it up and just flip it and run a new power cord......dammit.

I dont have any whine. I did with the cleansweep. but not with the LC6i.

No need to replace the entire power run. Buy an inline fuse and just buy a couple feet of extra wire.

Trust me it hurts to cut cable. Each cut you make is money wasted.

I probably have 20ft of misc 1/0 and 4ga stuff in lengths from 6 inch to 2 feet that I can't use for anything.

Awesome setup and great thread! Some questions that might be a bit silly but excuse the ignorance... What are molex connectors? What is the purpose of the LC6i? How much does a setup like this run? Appreciate the time.

molex connectors are a type of quick connector. they are on many types of components. for some trucks they have them on the doors. which makes it easier to take the doors off.

the purpose of the LC6i is a line out converter. It pulls the speaker outputs from the stereo and allows you to hook up and amplifier.

It all depends on the components you buy. but a basic system installed yourself can be as little as 600. but can be infinitly expensive.

Richard,
Sorry for the delay, I was out of town with no real way to respond. My set up was around $1200 all said and done. This is with doing the install myself. The local shop I got the amps from wanted around $1000 to make a custom box and install the amps.

You have to put the bottom of the seat up then take the headrest off. Then put your hand down the back of the seat where the head rest would have been blocking entry. you will feel a little latch. you have to just pull up on the outside of it and it will release. Then pull the lever on the bottom of the seat and the back of the seat goes forward as the bottom goes down. You have to do this on both sides.
