Alpine Shallow Type R Amp Combo

I really think the Alpine is going to be the best fit for the enclosure I want. My question is, I have a Kicker ZX400.1 putting out 491 at 2 ohms, so somewhere around 240 ish at 4 ohm. The Alpine is a 4 ohm single voice coil with an RMS of 600 I believe. Is this combo even going to be worth it or are there other shallow subs that would work better? Im looking at 10" subs. I only want to run one. I know the type R can go in a small box, less than .4 which is appealing meaning I can fit it under my 40% split.

It all depends on what you sound you are looking for. I am not sure if 240 is enough to get that sub going really deep.

It is always better to have to much than not enough because you can always dial back to much. That being said a mono amp that puts out 600watt at 4ohm is going to be a beast of an amp unless is has a regulated power supply I.E JL Audio.

Might look at a 2 channel that can be bridged to get the power you want.

I also have a zx750.1 which was rated at 941 rms at 4 ohm and it fits on the back wall of the cab, was just trying to get away from running a 1400 system if I could. I really want to do the JL HD900/5 but the $800-$900 price tag stings when I already have three amps.

Langlowe, how do you like the LC6i? I been leaning toward that unit for my build.

I like it.

It is kind of old school but it works. I have zero noise from it and it is simple to setup and use. Plus what I paid for it maked it a great deal.

There are other solutions but I haven't had the opportunity to deal with them yet.
