Question HELP!!!! What do I do?

Here is what I would like to do. I want to slightly upgrade my stock stereo in a 2001 Ford Lightning. Speaker and stereo tech is no my expertise so I am in need of an education.

I want to put 4 pioneer 3 way 6x8s in to replace all 4 factory speakers. I want to keep the stock head unit and do not want to buy an amp at this time.

Will 4 3 way speakers improve the sound and richness of the sound system enough to warrent this. What does everybody else suggest? I do not want a 1200 watt uber system just a bit richer cleaner sound than stock.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice
Chris

Do you have a regular or x-cab or screw?

If you have a regular cab, I would put the pioneer 2 ways in the rear, you won't hear them as much so don't put more money into them.

For your front speakers the pioneer 3 ways will be good, I personally went with the pioneer 6895, which are the 2-way 6x8's with the compression horn tweeters. And I love my highs.

Yes. 2 pairs should cost you no more then $200, completely worth it. Plus I love pioneer.

I am sure they will work fine for you.

You may want to look at these speakers I have them in my Lightning. I don't think you need 3 ways a good 2 way will work fine.
