That is strange. Good thing door panels aren't too big of a pain to get off. It looked good while you had it

Well, that explains it.

Both sides, my fault.....shouldn't have mounted them like that with stress on the wires.
Guess I get to test my soldering skills and re-mount the tweeters using the supplied hardware.

Finally had some time to try and fix this. Try was the operative word there.

I heated up the tab to remove the old solder, and in doing so, burnt the lead wire off. I knew it was probably a lost cause at this point, but I tried to take it apart and see if there was anything I could do to fix it.

Nope. Taking it apart only made sure even a professional couldn't repair it. It now rests in the dumpster behind the shop.

So, I'm in the market for new tweeters. I'd be happy just getting the same ones, but I can't find them for sale without the crossovers, as a kit.......and added cost.

Any other recommendations?

That really sucks. I mean really sucks.

I looked around online and you are right can't find the RF t2t-s without crossovers.

Might give Rockford a call and see what they can do.

Otherwise here are a couple other options.

Of if you can jump on these might be able to get them.http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...-tweeters.html

I just bit the bullet and ordered the same ones from E-Bay. They were like $120 shipped, which is what I would have paid for anything else, and I knew I liked the way these sounded.

They came in yesterday, somehow got shipped to my parents house. I stil have to go pick them up, probably install them tonight.

I was looking back through this thread; and, after seeing some others, I am wondering why everyone is putting their crossovers in the door pockets. Is there really that little room inside the door?

You could maybe find some room inside the door, but definitely not anywhere on the backside of the doorpanel. At least not with these crossovers. Maybe something a lot smaller, but not these.

I went with the pockets for two reasons. I wanted to be able to easily get at them fir adjustments and because inside the door itself is a pretty harsh environment, and that cant be good for them. They aren't made to be put outside, and that is basically what you would have if it's inside the door.
