ive got 2 kicker CVR 10's and a 1000 watt Autotek amp, and it hits harder than all my friends 12's. Kicker makes the best all around subwoofers in my opinion

dont fall into the mainstream pit like everyone else...sure kicker, jl, rockford, etc all make pretty good subs, but you can get so much more for the price. I dont know what your budget is, but look into SSA there built like a beast and you get twice the sub for the price. there are plenty of other smaller companies that hand make there subs in the US. If you want the Lamborghini of subs then i would go with Fi. Fi actually has good pricing on their subs as well

in my opinion i like the pioneer 12's, idk how much you are willing to spend on subs but i got two 3000 watt 12's for 200 at a flea market, they hit really hard with the appropriate box, i had a 2000 watt amp hooked up to these and it sounded nice and deep,

You're pretty limited on what you can run because of mounting depth, unless you want to run a seat lift. The new thin Alpine Type-Rs look like pretty good subs... Underhung for good SQ and strong motor force. I would also recommend the SI BM MKIIIs but they are hard to get.

The best sub I ever owned was a 12" Digital Designs or My old school RF Punch when I was a teenager, god those were awesome.. The best sub for the money was a 12" Kenwood. Worst sub I ever owned was a Square Kicker L7.

This is a loaded question and cannot be answered without more info...

Best for what??????
Best SPL?
Best Sound Quality?
Best bang for the buck?
What amp are you using/planning on using?
What is your budget?
What type of music do you listen to?

This stuff is also so subjective, and each of these questions and answers above could lead you to a different choice! Someone on a budget who likes thumping loud bass might love an $80 RE Audio sub, while someone with more cash and a more refined ear might go for a $300 Image Dynamics sub...

Dont get caught up in the name game, as most subs are never seen. Go out and listen to different systems/subs.... define a budget, pick a sub based on what music you like to listen to, make a cd and take it with you to different shops...

Hope this helps you a little... answer some of these questions and perhaps we can point you towards several suggestions.
