I want more bass

Hey,
I currently have 2 polk audio 8's they sound really good i just want more bass. My options,
1. Add a 10 between the center counsel and backseat.
2. Get rid of the 8's and have 1 shallow mount 10 under the backseat.

I don't really want a seat lift. If i went with option 1 would adding another amp be ok i have 2 hooked up now and my lights dim.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Yea, never mix and match your subs like that unless you plan on using 8s for like midbass and 10s for your lower bass, but then you're looking at a serious crossover network and way more hassle than anyone wants to mess with in a vehicle. That's why people don't do it.

Also, I'm not so sure a single ten would be that much of an improvement over 2 eights as far as more bass goes. SPL=cone space and 2 eights will have more cone space than a single ten.

Thanks for the replys, i would get a 12 but i never really liked the sound, good bass but i listen to a lot of rock music. Can anyone think of some 10's that would fit in a box under my backseat? I built 2 boxes and stuck them together for my 8's and it worked out perfectly.

Wouldn't i have to build a bigger box? I built the box for the recommended .35 cubic ft. sealed. I just looked at the instructions that came with it and thats what they recommend. Didn't say anything about ported. I wish there was an easy way. o well thanks guys.

Typically for an 8, you're looking at around .5 per sub after you account for sub displacement and port displacement. It makes a big difference though bro. I was scared to build my first ported box because I was unsure of how to port them. After I finally did some research and built one, I haven't gone back to sealed. That was some 6 or 7 sub boxes ago.
