Output Question...

I am curious which might offer more output/clarity. Currently I am running 1 JL w1v2 10" sub sealed off of about 220 watts at 4ohms. I am thinking about switching to 2 JL w3v3 6's ported at about 400 watts. I dont know how to estimate output, ect. Just curious before I pick them up.

Thanks in advance, sorry its been so long.

I wouldnt run a 6in sub. You can run 6.5-7 in your doors, they will provide nothing but midbass. IMO they would be for someone who has to IB them in there rear decks.

Porting your 10 might give you better response if your looking for a louder boom, or just give it more power as it is. Maybe try stuffin 3/4 of a lb of fiberfill into the box and see how it reacts. That will trick it into thinking its in a large box and therefor gaining output with the lower power. Whats it cost u 3$ from walmart to try?

Want a Koda? (Yes, I am serious).

Single 4-ohm coil. As long as your box can handle 4.75" depth, it will drop right in. Love these little guys but I cannot afford to have them taking up space. I'll let one go...PM me and lets talk.

You'd be suprised by 6's. I have a buddy with 4 w0 6's, and they crank. Excellent sq also. He has to for his application though.

I already have polyfill in there. It sounds good, but I have had a few different setups in here and this one fits under the seat nice. I am thinking about the 6's because I can pick up the pair relatively cheap. I would love to play with one of those Bm's, but am low on funds if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the reply,

Just port the 10, you'll get "more output" it will seem louder, I don't like sealed personally as much as ported because of the way it sounds.
I think you'd like it much better if you can find the room.
