03 F150 Install Log
I haven't been the best about taking pictures of my install, that or I lost the pictures when my phone broke cause I was too lazy at the time to email them to myself.
Anyways, I don't suppose I spent a lot of time on this install or anything, it was fun and challenging in many ways, the truck is an XL so I put electric windows and locks in, you'll see some of that in the pictures.
Here's the equipment
Eclipse 7200MkII
Power Acoustik BAMF 55001/D
MB Quart Discuss 480 (4 channel) running at 2 ohm
2 12" Diamond D6 Dual 4ohm
2 sets Gonzo 6.5" components running on active crossover (fmods)
Decka Marine Battery (A Beast)
Kinetik Battery (the small one not sure of specs)
Upgraded alt to 225 amp HO
That's about it actually! =)

I ran 0ga for everything from battery to distribution blocks which are under the passenger side from seat, if I could do it over I would put everything behind the rear seat, I don't think I had torn out the back seat yet to know it would fit though.

I put in Kicks for one set of components, they're Q-forms.

As far as the other woofers go, I put them in the door, I had to cut it out with a die grinder to make 6.5" woofer fit

The 4 channel amp went under the driver seat, which turned out really well, here's a pic of the wiring first one is before going under the seat.

The 12's didn't fit in the sealed box I ordered off ebay, so I had to put trim rings on to make them fit, well with the trim rings the subs hit against the floor. Of course a sub flapping against the floor sounded terrible so I ordered a seat lift.

I haven't taken a picture of the box under the seat, as of right now it's sitting on 2x4 pieces to keep it up. I hadn't heard a sealed box in years til I heard this one, it's really loud, but just didn't hit the lows like a ported box would. That's the sound I love, so this weekend I'm going to rebuild it with rounds ports, or at least see if I can make it work, and from the figures I've come up with I'll have plenty of room. I've run aero ports before but I've never made round ports from a pvc type pipe, I'm using ABS piping for it. Diamonds have an incredibly long port length 4x20.5 for the 12's, so I'll be doing 2 4x10.25 ports for each sub hopefully I can make it work.
As far as sound right now, it sounds absolutely amazing, but I don't have enough bass for my taste. I originally bought the components to keep up with an old school hcca 15, which I'm still considering if I can make work in the truck with some interesting angles. So the highs definitely have enough to keep up with the 12's, but I think they'll do a lot better in a ported box.
When I did the components, I originally wanted to compete when I started building the stereo (didn't have the truck at that point). I wanted to run 2 sets of components, and I went round and round about doing 2 4 channel amps, which logically that's how I should of done it, but I didn't want to add more wattage. So I hooked the woofers together, and the tweeters together in parallel and ran them 2 ohm, which allows me to get a smaller 4 channel, and still get adequate power from running it at 2 ohm. I haven't posted pictures yet but the speakers I put in the door, I put the tweeter right above, which caused some interesting staging issues. With all the speakers down low, my staging was low, which really disappointed me.
I've posted here and many other places about the time alignment issue I was having of how to align the speakers when they were hooked up together as I have mentioned. Essentially though time alignment cured my low staging issue, I really was considering getting rid of the deck until someone tried to sell me a kenwood telling me I could "trick" it to raise the staging with time alignment. I thought about it a bit, and was like why the hell can't I do that with my eclipse? It worked beautifully!
I just need to get my windows tinted, and put a glare strip on my windshield to deal with the glare on the deck, or come up with a cover to keep the sun off it.
I will take more pictures tomorrow of the finished doors, and the big amp, which has dual 4ga inputs run to it. Also I might post one of the box, when I start building the ported box I will definitely post pics of that, and post how it sounds.

Thankyou, like I say I'll try to get some more pictures up, I'll be building another box for it this weekend, hopefully for the 15! I have to dream that one into life though, I might build one for both I guess too see what I like better.
That hcca in a SQ box sounds amazing, in a boomer box it rattles your bowels omg! Especially in the hatchback I had it in before, if I remember I'll take pics of that too!
