My new setup, opinions?

Okay as of now all i have is, well the most expensive part...

Pioneer Avic z-2 Head unit. also have my stock four door speakers and 2 more 6x8 powerbass speakers in a custom speaker box up front.

Heres what i got in mind

2000x2 DHD class d amp
1000x4 DHD class ab amp
two wiring kits
Underseat sub box
New style Kicker CVR's 10"

I plan on doing two down firing tens under the backseat. Keep it simple and clean. the combined price for the listed is 530 out the door. This is the exact setup my brother has except he has a 1400 or 1500 for the highs and mids.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Get rid of the center speaker box. You are killing your acoustics and messing with the right/left channels, you have random sound waves going everywhere. It will greatly improve sound quality if you take them out.

Those amps are overrated. For simple kickers under the seat, look for a decent quality amp that does about 500-600 true watts and you'll be golden. If you can budget for it, a small 2 or 4 channel for the speakers would add depth to the sound as well.

Im thinking about kick panels with 6" round speakers. and why not the dhd's? i mean, they cost 150 bucks or so? a 600 watt kicker cost more then that doesnt it? i know your not getting a true 2000 out of it, however its powering two tens lol.

If you want a lower cost amp, try the powerbass line. Ive seen some of them and they look decent. ASA line looks clean to me.

Id only do kicks if you plan on going to a 3way active with some decent sound processing. If not, your going to get some odd sounds

If your looking for a good all round sub for a good price, get a couple alpine type s 10's with an alpine m500 amp. 2 alpine type s 10" subs go for 80 bucks a piece at soniceltronix.com. And the amp you can get for 179 dollars. Subs handle 300watts rms a piece. $340 isnt a bad price for 2 subs and an amp. Plus its Alpine. Always a good choice!

I have a single 10" CVR pushed by a kenwood 8104D (500w rms x1 @2 ohms) and I have plenty of bass. The CVR's are a decent budget sub, just make sure you give it enough power. The 10" are rated for 400w rms for both coils combined and I'm giving it 500. You don't need to run the same amp I have, just a like amount of power.

I am really happy with my 8" kicker and 300.1 Kicker amp.

I recommend Kicker!

I had a 12" square kicker in a ported box on a 1200D that was only 4 DB lower than 2 12" on a 1500D.
