Single 12" box??
My buddy has one he is going to sell to me for cheap. What were you thinking of a better option?
If the sub won't fit and you have to do a bunch of mods to make it work, it might be more cost effective to get a sub that will fit in box that works for your setup.

What would be the best way to go? I want a single 12 and I need a amp.
I can find dual 12 boxes but not one for a single.
A lot of the problem is in the dimensions. A 12 in a downfire is a pretty tall order without the box sticking out from under the seat a bit. It has to do with making the speaker fit in a downfire position while maneuvering the box around the uneven contours of the floor. Can be done but is normally accomplished with a custom box.
Might consider a 10" box and put your money into good sub to fill it. A quality 10" in a properly sized box can easily outgun a mediocre 12" in a poorly built custom enclosure. For around $300-$350 you could put together a setup that will work a lot better than you may realize and still fit unobtrusively under the seat.

To answer the OP question, I got my 12 single from:

He builds good boxes however I outgrew the kicker and went with the newer Memphis. I used Rodney box but sealed it with resin and some fiberglass as shown here:

Now with the new Memphis I be jammin except I'm only throwing around 330rms watts so I need a better amp to give it it's required 500rms.

10" boxes will accomodate many standard subs. No need to go with a shallow mount unless you absolutely have to. I have an Image Dynamics ID10D in my box. With the dust cover removed it fits with room to spare. Many other subs that might be 1/4" to 3/8" too deep will actually fit if you take off the ugly-adz (and usually way overblown for looks) magnet covers.
