10" subwoofer help

Hi all,

I think i have found a setup I would like and want to know if there is a better option. I want to mount the sub under the seat and I can only fit a 10" sub. I like the Pioneer shallow mount and this was the best box I could find. Are there better boxes or subs? I'll be going with a pioneer HU and Boston Acoustic Speakers.

You don't have to use a shallow mount to fit a 10 under the seats, depending on the box, you can get as much as 6"+ of top mount depth.

I have the pioneer shallow mount 10's under my seat. I went shallow mount because my old 10's were about 2" too deep for the box (big magnets). I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just trying to stuff something in there that fit without regard to the box volume. The subs perform well and I've been pleased. They are definitely not the best I've owned, but I made the compromise for space and wasn't ready to dish out the $600 per speaker JL wanted for their shallows when they first hit the market. I think you may want to invest in a better amplifier (maybe look more into the $250 price range as a starting point). I've heard my 10's on my MMATS amp, and on cheaper amps. Like any other speaker, a lot of the sound comes down to the quality of the amp you're pushing it with.

I have that exact box in my 07. It's filled with an Image Dynamics ID10. Love it.
