Tweeters in 2009 Front Door Panels

I'm upgrading the front factory speakers in my '09 SCrew to a component set. I do not have the audiophile package, just the Sony system. There is a removable silver grill covering the 6x8s in the door, but I can't find anywhere on the panel where a tweeter would be located if I had the audiophile package. Does anyone know if the '09 audiophile came with tweeters in the front doors, and if so where are they mounted? I'm wondering if the door panels or pillar trim are slightly different between the audiophile and non-audiophile trucks.

The tweeters in the 09 are located in the A pillars not the doors. Might be worth looking for the trim for the pillars to mount the tweters

Whoa, I just called my local dealership and these are the prices I was quoted for the A pillar trim for a Lariat with the Sony Upgrade:

Drivers Side (P/N 1503599) - $133.54
Passenger Side (P/N 1503598) - $150.78

Also, the guy wasn't even sure that they would fit correctly and since it's a special order, it can't be returned. Not sure I'm going to be able to stomach over $300 with tax; especially since I may end up eating it.

Is there any place that sells ford parts online at a discounted rate? Also, I know that some earlier F-150 models mounted the tweeters in the triangular section just in front of the door handles. The '09s have a piece of faux wood there. Does anyone know if the dimensions are identical to the earlier models? I'm wondering if I could pop that piece of wood out, cut a hole and then buy the grill from an earlier year.

You can buy component speakers where the tweeter can be mounted onto the phase plug of the midwoofer. The Image Dynamics XS line is a high quality example.

I have seen some mount them in the triangle area on the door at the base of the window and the door. Thats where I plan to do mine.

Yup, I put mine in that triangle spot in front of the door handle. Decent line of sound for tweets and not too far from woofer or too low of a sound stage.
The previous model f150's came with tweets in that same spot.

I already mounted mine. Just bought a hole saw a little smaller that the tweeter housing and my wife trimmed the rest with an exacto knife.
