Which Door Speakers for 2009?
Which Door Speakers for 2009?
Does anyone have any input on which speakers (brand, size, component, 2-way) that I should replace my front door speakers with? I don't want to put an amp for now and really don't want to spend more than about $100-$150. The reason I only say my front is that when I turn it to the back speakers I can barely hear them anyway. I might replace them later down the road if someone can give me some input that it will be worth it. Is changing the front speakers going to be worth it without an amp and spending alot more money? I like to listen to the radio about half way up most of the time and the mid-bass likes to cut out right in there. Thats really all I'm wanting is a little more mid-bass at half volume. I don't care for screaming highs so I was thinking of going with the components and hopefully placing the tweeters where they are not really loud. Does this sound like a good idea? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Honestly, you can keep the door speakers if you add a small sub. That will stop your door speakers from playing bass and allow you to play them louder without distortion. I did this for almost 3 years before i replaced my door speakers. I even hit them with a 200w amp and they sounded decent. A small 10'' 200w sub and amp shouldnt set you back too much more then what you want to spend now if you search. Then 30-40$ for wiring. I think you will be happier in the long run
To get door speakers to sound decent with midbass, your probably going to have to go componets with an amp and a lot of door treatments (mdf baffle and sealing/deadning) Even with doing that, your not giving them any more power so your gain is not going to be where you want it.
