Simple question for those in the know

In theory, in sealed enclosures, what would be louder:

1 Kicker CVX 10 in a single 10" Fox Box

or

2 Kicker CVR 10's in a dual 10" eBay box?

Lookin for a cheap out for some bass while I save up my money for a good build this summer.

What is a fox box? I would say the dual would sound better if driven properly.

Its the boxes available from foxacoustics.com, I don't know of anyone on here that has used their single 10" box though. I am prob just gonna throw the two CVR's in there for now.

A CVX is 600W RMS while CVR 400W RMS @ 4 Ohms.

i read somewhere also that if you double your power or speaker surface you only gain 3dbs, dont know how much truth there is in that though.....

That 3db is a lot, especially when you consider what it takes to get there.

Sealed, 2 will be louder than 1.

Go with the two 10's. If driven @ 800W, they could be about +4.5dbs louder than just one 10" @ 600W. Doubling power can gain you +3dbs. Doubling your speaker, Xmax, or surface area can get your +6dbs. Also, if you really want more dynamic bass, two 10" subs will give you better lows at higher volumes than a single 10" woofer.
