replace 4 door speakers with what?
Sorry if I hijacked the question but here's my answer...
Still lookin! Sundevil recommended the Infinity Reference 6x8's earlier in this thread. I went to Best Buy yesterday and a guy there suggested the Infinity Kappa 6x8's (if I am going to amp them, which I plan on doing) over the Reference's. I like the idea of going with components in the front doors but I also want to keep it inexpensive and simple.
Where did you end up mounting the crossovers for your components?

will this setup work in a 02 5.4 supercrew 4x4?
in my price range as a highschooler and seems like i could hook it up myself
For maxim scream and proper level handling I used Polk 2-Way db Series Component Car Speakers in the front being pushed by 200w and rear Polk Audio 3 way being pushed by another 200w. It's extremely leveled in sound.
Ive got a similar version of these (TS-A6872R) in all four doors and love them!

The D's are considerably better and less tinny then the A series.
