Sorry if I hijacked the question but here's my answer...

Still lookin! Sundevil recommended the Infinity Reference 6x8's earlier in this thread. I went to Best Buy yesterday and a guy there suggested the Infinity Kappa 6x8's (if I am going to amp them, which I plan on doing) over the Reference's. I like the idea of going with components in the front doors but I also want to keep it inexpensive and simple.

Where did you end up mounting the crossovers for your components?

For maxim scream and proper level handling I used Polk 2-Way db Series Component Car Speakers in the front being pushed by 200w and rear Polk Audio 3 way being pushed by another 200w. It's extremely leveled in sound.

The References' are more of an entry level speaker then the Kappas. Kappas are what I run in my truck. My fronts are currently torn out of my truck, but the crossovers were in the kick panels, and they will now be mounted on the floor under where my amp is on the back wall. See my build thread in the amplifiers section for some pics.

The D's are considerably better and less tinny then the A series.
