What door speakers in an 05

I'm going to replace my door speakers in my 05 screw. Any suggestions on which ones to go with.

Are you looking for a system or speakers that would run off an aftermarket HU?

Pardon e for jumping in here, but I have a 2005 and im pretty sure one of my speakers is having issues. If it is buggered and needs replacing, any suggestions??

I have an aftermarket Pioneer, not so keen on going the whole amp and sub route, but would like better sound quality. Would consider adding an app to run the fronts if I can get the head unit to run the backs.

Thanks

Well usually if you have an after market HU then you could just get some alpines or pioneer speakers that could run just off of the HU.

I'm a big fan of Alpine... If you have a non stock system take a look at the Alpine SPX-17REF component speakers...

They are not cheap but they are a great choice... I love them...

Really, I have a set of focal component speakers that ran me about 200 and was looking to put those in the rear because the tweeters were a little bright for me. Do you think that they are worth the money?

I would do it again without a doubt... The HU makes all the difference... With the Alpine iva-w505, all speakers can be adjusted individually... Once this is done it sounds awesome...

Ya I have the top of the line kenwood HU its the excelon double din similar to the one above. I completely agree though, the HU makes a huge difference as well as other things like speaker wire, RCA's, size of the power wire and such all make a huge difference.

Looks like we are all in the same boat, just the labeling n the side is a it different. I got the double din Pioneer AVH-5800 - but just with the stock speakers. I know its not the ideal set-up but i never got back around to the speakers. Anyhow, now that one of the speakers appears to be dead, looks like im in the market, so what size am I looking at? i wouldnt suspect they are 6x9's.

No I would you will be looking at 6x8's. But in my opinion I would go with some 6 1/2 inch component speakers because I believe round speakers sound better then oval speakers. You can buy the shim that turns it from 6x8 to 6 1/2 speaker size.
