Which Box

Depending if I keep my Rockford Powers or go with the Alpine Type R's, will depend on which subs I get Rockford Powers or Alpine Type R's. So, which box should I get?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Ford-F150...item35a6837f6c

Or

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=380184509262

I'd like to have two 10's of these:

or

http://onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...te_P210D4.aspx

I'm looking to just have straight all Alpine or all Rockford.

---

Should I just build one for a learning experience?

I would personally get this one, it has a nice area in which you can put the amps. Making a box can be harder then you think. Its hard making it sealed, you do choose to make a box then use screw and glue to hold the pieces together. Then afterwords go in with some ****ing and put it at every joint to make a good seal.

I'm assuming you selected the second box, the link you posted is broken. Which subs would fit in them? Type R's, Punches or both?

Yes I did post the second box. Both subs would work inside of there, the mounting depth of that box is 7.25 inches. That leaves plenty of room behind the type R's, which in my opinion I believe would be a better choice in subs. Thats my personal opinion though.

Yea thats what I would highly recommend. I have a friend with the type R's and he says there the best subs hes ever had. Hes used w6's and such and still believes the type R's are the best.

well, your gonna need a minimum 1000w rms. Do you wanna run 1 amp or 2? Also, are you running 1222d or 1242d's? Ive done Type R setups 2 different ways, both involving the Dual 4 ohm voice coil version...

2 alpine type R, voice coils wired in parallel to 2 ohms
2 alpine MRP-M500 500w x1 at 2 ohms.

2 alpine type R, voice coils wired in parallel to 2 ohms, subs wired in parallel to 1 ohm
1 Rockford 1000.1bd 1000w x2 at 1 ohm. Every 1000.1bd ive seen has had a birth certificate with ratings over 1200w rms at 1 ohm, some over 1300.

I have no clue what that stuff means, but, the way I've seen it done was 1 1500w mono amp for the 2 12's, and 1 4channel amp for the speakers. I'm debating if I should get 2 10's or 2 12's.

Depends on the base/ music that you like do you like for deciding the size subs. If you like rap and such then get 12's. If you like rock and such get 10's

Sundevil, I'm trying to stick with all alpine. As for sub size and music genre, I listen to everything but mostly rap.

Id get the 10's. Probably be a bit easier to squeeze those behemoths in then the 12's.

If you wanna stick with all alpine, theres a couple different routes you could go. Question is, how much do you wanna spend?
