Quick Door Speaker Question
Quick Door Speaker Question
Okay so i just upgraded my door speakers to PIONEER TSA6963 6x9 and i wired them to my raido. And when i turn it up on some songs they start to pop. What can i do to prevent it from popping?
They are probably clipping if all wiring is correct.
If you can get your hands on a 4 channel amp to run to them that might solve the problem.
You could also try turning down the bass all the way then turn them up and see if you have the same problem.

maybe they are being underpowered by the factory HU. i would recommend replacing the factory HU with an aftermarket, dont know what your budget is but i would recommend any deck that has atleast 4V pre-amps and personally i would replace those 6x9 co-axles with some type of component setup, i have 4 kenwood KFC-P680C's in the doors with a JL Audio 300/4 on them and they rock like hell! the kenwoods i have are a 6" component thats mounted to a plate that fits perfect in ford trucks.

two ways to do this.
For most applications, your stock wiring will be sufficient to power your door speakers via an amplifier. In this case, you would mount your amp in your desired location, and run speaker wire for how ever many speakers you have (4 speaks = 4 pairs of speaker wire) to behind the radio. Then, you tap those wires into the speaker wire on the truck side of your harness. Make sure you match up the channels correctly, or youll have fader balance issues.
The second way is to run speaker wire strait from the amp into the doors and strait to the speaker itself.
