Need Advice on a SIMPLE System

Ok guys, let me start by saying that if there is one area that I know nothing about it is car audio. That being said, I have a 2005 SuperCab I am looking at doing a few upgrades in.

I figured a good set of door speakers front and rear and a single 10" sub under the rear seat. Just something that will hit a little more than stock. I dont want anything that will rattle the truck apart or cause me to have to pull all the carpet up and Dynamat everything. I also am going to add a iPod direct hookup.

So there is the plan. Lay it on me. Thanks in advance!

Well how much are you willing to spend. You can spend a little or a lot and that determines what you can do.

Id look into some sort of 5 channel amp, alpine type S in the doors ive been told are decent. Your going to have to set aside $$ for install or wiring + sub box. There are lots of posts around about boxes for your truck.

if i were you i would go with some polk audio door speakers. And as far as sub and amp i would definitely go with a kenwood class D amp and for subs i would probably put maybe 2 memphis audio 10" subs under your back seats. Or 1 12" just for the little boom that sill sounds good

I'm sure they work fine, and as long as you are happy with it then thats all that matters. However, the build quality of their newer stuff is just not up to par with the quality of their older models from the late 90s. The do not do rated power, and are not nearly as clean. Pop it open and look at its internals, compare them to the older amps....you'll see what I mean.

BTW, that particular model you've posted is actually a 500 watt amp, rated 1000w peak/burst. And 95% of mono subwoofer amps built today are class D.

I got a kenwood Exelon for my W5v13 and it was a waste of money. Some cheap speakers you can put in the truck are infinity reference speakers. There cheap and sound better then stock. Or if you wanna spend a little more money you can get some Alpines.

That's the exact same amp that I have and I hate it. Waste of money.

That amp is a disgrace. My old arc audio fd2200 was better and that is 370w max.
