Will this enclusure fit?

I contacted them and asked if it will fit an FX4 center console, because it looks like it's installed with the flip up seat type console. The man I talked to wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask here. Has anyone else ordered this enclosure?

It should fit...the flip up console and the fixed console should both stop at the same spot.

Thanks man, I ordered a JL 10W3v3, and it's mounting depth of just under 6", and I haven't found a box that will fit under the seat with that kind of depth. And I'm not spending $170 on a fiew pieces of metal to lift my seat up.

And since you're an audio tech, maybe you can reassure me on my setup. I've been around car audio for a while, and heard a lot of JL setups, and never been dissapointed. But, reassurance is always nice. Anyways, I ordered a JVC KW-NT1, the W3 as my sub, JL 500/1v2 for the amp, a Stinger 1 Farad CAP, and 4 JL C2-570X's for my door speakers.

Also, do you think the 500/1 is too much power for the W3? The Thermal Power handling of the speaker is 500w, and from what I understand that's pretty much RMS, and right under 600w is the danger zone for the speaker. If so, then I'll probably send the W3 back and get the W6, since I've still got some time before I get home from Iraq.

the last thing you want to do is get a capacitor

and if your willing to spend some extra money to get the w6 then i would go with that

I keep hearing the no CAP thing, but why? I've never heard anything bad about them. And I think I'd only get the W6 if the 500/1v2 is too much for the W3. I emailed JL and I'm waiting a reply back on that one.

here is a box to fit 2 10w3v3, dont need a cap, the 500/1 is fine for one or two of those subs, just tune properly. http://www.foxacoustics.com/ProductD...150%2D210%2D04

there is only one thing that they can do and nobody, unless got money to blow for no noticeable performance gain, will benefit from.

caps are used to maintain voltage levels in a car for ONLY the quick bass hits.

the problem with this is your entire electrical system must be able to support the stereo system..
that right there is rarely common for people who want caps because they are trying to find alternatives to buying a new alternator.

The alternator must be able to supply the entire car and stereo setup.
It is then where a cap can help

If the guy at Sound Off comes through and customizes the box like I'd like, then I'll probably just go with that and send back my W3 for a W6. If he doesn't, then I'll probably go with the Foxbox and 2 W3's

Also, I thought I read somewhere that 1.5" is not enough clearance for the W3's excursion. I know it's only .550, but after adding the surround and everything, 1.5" wasn't enough. Can anyone clear this up for me?

it is plenty. i put the grills on mine so it rests where it needs to. this prevents any skeetin on the floor.

Are you talking about the flow-through center console with the console mounted gear shifter? If so I doubt that box will fit since the contours on the back of the two different consoles are different. He says that it won't fit trucks with bucket seats either.

As for your question about JL....... lots of people will not buy JL because it is expensive equipment. I've got a JL 500/1v2 powering a 13TW5 under my rear seat in my '08 screw FX4 and I couldn't be happier. Check out some local dealers before you buy the stuff online from an unauthorized dealer. I got my 500/1v2 for $400 and my 13TW5 for $330 -- both came from authorized dealers.

Well I've already ordered all of the equipment, other than the box. I've heard all the stuff before (other than the new v2 amps) and I know I'm going to be satisfied. I just wasn't sure if the 500/1 was too much power, because I heard somewhere that the v2 was underrated RMS power.

The v2 amps are basically the same as the older slash amps -- the biggest difference is the updated appearance. I powered a JL 10w3v3 ported stealthbox with my 500/1v2 and it sounded great and I never had any problems with the setup.

Cool deal man, I appreciate everyone's input. I think I've decided to go with the Foxbox. Do you guys think I should keep the 1 W3, or order the 2/10 box and get another W3?

If you're going sealed I would get the dual Fox Box and order another 10w3v3.

Preciate it man. Now, since I'm gonna do the 2/10 box, wheres a good place to mount the amp? I don't really like the behind the seat idea because it doesn't seem like it would get proper cooling there. Sorry for all the questions, I'm not new at this, I just doubt myself sometimes. haha
