Alpine S or R

Going to install Alpine 105 deck, the new inline amp, and new speakers. Will going with the type R's worth the extra money over type S. I listen to mostly alternative music. If they will sound similar I will save money but if the sound quality is noticable I will spend the money.

the R's will sound alot better... BUT... you need to have amp that has enough watts for them.. the better you match the amp to the speakers the better it will sound... now these Alpines sound way better then the R's or S's... all the guys on some of the audio fourms like these if you want to stay with alpine...

I was just about to reccomend those IDs myself. For the price and quality they cannot be beat. The type s is a weak speaker when amped and has no midbass at all. And from what I have seen the type r is the same way. I will tell u that the type s will take the power. I had 2 pair powered by an alpine v12 amp pushing 125 watts per channel. They took the power for 3 years. Although no longer amped they still work today
