What do you think?

I've had two 10" rockford fosgate p1s sitting in my garage for over a year now and i'm finally deciding to install them in my 06 scab. I been looking at sub boxes under the rear seat, but i decided i wanted something a little different...What do you think?

The first picture is of the center console being built - I used 3/4 mdf and countersunk screws...

The second picture is the box in the truck - I wanted to make sure it fit! You can see there is tray on the top. This is the compartment to hold my crap. You can see in the last couple pictures i added a lid for this compartment and a place for the factory rear cup holders.

The last couple pictures are of the box as it sits now...This week i plan to start the fiberglassing.

Nice project! I bought a sheet of 3/4 mdf to build an underseat box. Unfortunately time prohibited me from digging into a project, so I just bought a box and the MDF sits where I brought it home from the hardware store. I love a good carpentry project and it looks like you got some skills. Can't wait to see the finished project.

i did a little more work on the box tonight...I cut the holes for the 10" and fiberglassed the inside of the box to help seal it. You can see from the first pictures i posted, i used 3/4 inch strips of mdf to make the curves, so i defiantly needed some fiberglass behind it to help the seal.

here are some pics of under the box...you can see i left a 2" lip to make room for the excursion - hopefully it will be enough.

Got a question for you audio guys...my two 10s will be sharing air space - So how much air space do i need?? Rockford Fosgate recommends .5 to .8 ft3 of space for ONE sub. Does this mean i need 1 to 1.6 ft3 for two (just doubled)? Seems like a stupid question but i'm starting to second guess myself.

Has anyone heard of this before, “… if you have a regular box equipped with two undivided subwoofers sharing the same space, then reversing the polarity of one of those subs will result in a stronger bass hit, and a lower overall frequency response…”?? Will this work in my application?

yes double air space...no on reversing polarity for more power... that would be used in a band pass box,or ib setup, inverting,
you could also put some polyfill in ther to help with air space

Your box looks great... Can't wait to see it finished and hear from you on how it sounds... That's the real question...
